In embroidery, a Pricker is a small, pointed tool used for preparing holes for plunging metal threads into the fabric. Larger materials that are more difficult to plunge including twist and russia braid would require a hole to be prepared with a Pricker prior to the material being plunged through the fabric.
A small Pricker such as this can also be used when pricking and pouncing designs onto fabric.
