Charlotte Gaunt is a creative force in the world of textile design, known for her innovative approach to traditional techniques. As the founder of the textiles company Rediscovered By, Charlotte is based in Rutland, England, where she specializes in screen-printing and textile design. Her formal training at Goldsmiths University and the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia has equipped her with a deep understanding of historical textile methods, which she reinterprets in fresh and unexpected ways for modern interiors.

Charlotte's work is characterized by a unique blend of the historical and the contemporary. She draws inspiration from the natural world, creating designs that range from intricate tablecloths featuring printed foxgloves (a nod to the poisonous digitalis plant) for a farm-to-table restaurant, to a macabre yet beautiful depiction of the Three Fates woven into a bed head, and botanical wallpapers adorned with fluffy flocked bumblebees. Each piece invites viewers to observe the environment around them, capturing the delicate beauty of nature while also reflecting on its fragility.

In addition to her design work, Charlotte is also an educator. She contributes her expertise to the Hand & Lock Diploma program, specifically teaching the interiors unit. She also offers both online and in-person courses in interior embellishment techniques, such as Flocking and Foiling, as well as Silk Painting. Her teaching allows students to explore the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, guided by her passion for rediscovering and reimagining textile art.
